ChinaTel Sees Latin America Expansion On The Horizon

ChinaTel is aiming for 1.3mn broadband subscribers by 2011 over its soon-to-be-launched WiMAX network in Peru. The company acquired its licence through the acquisition of Perusat in March 2009 and has plans to continue expanding its network into another seven Latin American markets. In Peru, BMI believes the operator will struggle to reach 1.3mn subscribers, with our forecasts seeing the entire market not too far ahead of that in any case.
