Deutsche Telekom paid Vivendi and Polish conglomerate Elektrim SA EUR1.254bn to take sole ownership of Polska Telefonica Cyfrowa (PTC). The deal was agreed in December 2010. However it was only after the receipt of funds that Vivendi officially annulled the litigation surrounding PTC's share capital ownership. BMI considers an end to the dispute a positive outcome for all parties, enabling Deutsche Telekom to expand in Eastern Europe, Elektrim to exit bankruptcy proceedings and Vivendi to consolidate its holdings in domestic subsidiaries.
