News: Belgium's fixed-line incumbent Belgacom's pricing for its wholesale VDSL2 services has received approval from telecoms regulator, the Belgian Institute for Post and Telecommunications (BIPT). The regulatory decision sets bitstream access to the VDSL2 equipment at a cost of EUR13.85 (US$18.21) per month for alternative operators. The price represents a cost-based tariff plus a margin to encourage the operator to invest in advanced networks. Bitstream ADSL/ADSL2+ access price has been lowered from the previous EUR14.32 (US$18.83) to EUR12.51 (US$16.45) per month. BIPT has also lowered prices for its local loop unbundled (LLU) services from EUR9.29 (US$12.21) to EUR7.57 (US$9.95) per month.
