Tele2 Expands In Dutch Market With Acquisition Of BBNed

Swedish telecoms operator Tele2 has acquired BBNed Group, the Dutch operations of Italian incumbent Telecom Italia, for SEK475mn (US$65mn) on a cash and debt-free basis. Tele2, which already offers multiple services in the Netherlands, will be looking to expand its footprint in the Dutch market with BBNed's fixed-line infrastructure and mobile licence, acquired in the last Dutch mobile spectrum auctions, in April 2010.
