The final stages of the PL29 bill, which looks to allow fixed-line operators to offer pay-TV services, are approaching, and the details of the bill are starting to be clarified. On March 16, 22 amendments were rejected by the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) as unconstitutional, but Congressman Eduardo Cunha, who heads the PL29 committee, suggests that the bill be offered up with no further amendments. It seems fixed-line operators may soon be able to expand their services into a new arena.
