Speaking at a lecture in Lagos, Ernest Ndukwe, vice-chairman of the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), has highlighted the importance of regulatory independence for ensuring continuing information and communications technology development, reports the Daily Impendent. BMI cannot help but agree that a strong and reliable regulatory framework, which needs clear regulatory independence in order to exist, is very important for encouraging the telecoms sector to flourish. However, regulatory independence can be very difficult to achieve.
