Mobile broadband is increasing in popularity in the UK, reports Ofcom, as 6% of consumers rely on a broadband connection over the mobile network. Younger subscribers are the most likely to use a mobile broadband connection, and the news that mobile market leader O2 has successfully trialled LTE in its Slough-based operations will help to drive this trend further. As criticisms over the UK's fixed broadband networks continue, the high speeds potentially available over an LTE platform could see mobile broadband really take off.
