Bharti Seeks Regional M&As, Targets Warid Bangladesh

Indian mobile network operator Bharti Airtel has said that it wants to increase its international operations portfolio in a bid to diversify from its low-margin core domestic business. The company has said that it is interested in making acquisitions in the eight-member South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) region, and the telecoms regulator in Bangladesh has let slip the news that Bharti is negotiating to buy a 70% stake in Warid Telecom Bangladesh.
