The Bernama news portal reports that the Mindanao Economic Development Council (MEDCo) has unveiled a proposal for a new submarine fibre-optic cable system that would link the Philippines with countries in the East Asia Growth Area (EAGA). The proposal was put forward by EA Trilink at a recent meeting of the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines (BIMP)-EAGA Working Group on ICT.
