The UAE telecoms incumbent and international operator Etisalat has signed a new agreement with Chinese equipment manufacturer Huawei that extends the level of co-operation between the two companies, reports Zawya. Huawei revealed that it had made a global framework agreement and financing memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Etisalat. These will further formalise Huawei's position as Etisalat's natural technology partner in its telecoms networks and also provides a framework for Huawei to finance future Etisalat projects, in return for equipment contracts.
