Mexican telecoms market leader Telmex launched its web-based newscast, offering news streaming on its Prodigy Media content page. The company has been looking to enter the pay-TV market and claims it has met all conditions set by the regulator to allow it to begin broadcasting. Streamed news bulletins are broadcast twice a day on the website that provides access to video clips from sources such as ESPN and CNN En Español for Telmex's Infinitum ADSL subscribers. While not breaking its concession, which currently prevents the company from launching pay-TV, it highlights the company's impatience with the regulator.
