True Internet Gateway (TIG), a unit of converged service provider True Group, plans to invest THB1.4bn (US$41mn) in a proposed joint venture project to build a new submarine cable link between Thailand and the US. This would effectively end the monopoly held by state-owned operator CAT Telecom in the undersea cable market.
