Austria's incumbent fixed-line, broadband and mobile network operator, Telekom Austria, would consider proposals for it to merge with one of its peers in order to take advantage of significant opportunities for growth and value creation. The admission was made by the company's CEO, Boris Nemsic, in an interview with the Bloomberg.com news agency earlier this week, tying in with the release of Telekom Austria's results for the first half of 2008.
