Ukrainian incumbent telecoms operator Ukrtelecom has announced ambitious plans to rapidly grow its nascent 3G and increasingly popular fixed broadband services over the second half of 2008. The company also plans to set up an operating subsidiary in Germany, a market where many expatriate Ukrainians now live. The company is preparing for privatisation later this year or early 2009 and is striving to make itself more attractive to potential investors.
