Ericsson, the Sweden-based telecoms equipment vendor, is to carry out a 3G network trial. The Alokito Bangladesh project will demonstrate 3G services such as mobile health and mobile learning in the capital Dhaka until October this year. The aim is to educate and show off the potential for 3G services in the country. The trial is being held in conjunction with the site and transmission networks of Grameenphone, Aktel and Warid Telecom.
