wi-tribe Jordan, a subsidiary of wi-tribe, a joint venture (JV) between the Qatar Telecom Group (Qtel) and the A.A. Turki Group of Companies (ATCO), together with Clearwire, has selected Airspan Networks to deploy additional WiMAX equipment, aiding greater network expansion across Jordan. The contract stems from an earlier agreement in January 2008, which saw Airspan elected as the JV's preferred supplier. The telecoms equipment provider has already deployed its 3.6GHz HiperMAX solution, which requires a minimal number of base stations for indoor coverage and provides both fixed and mobile WiMAX service coverage over a single platform.
