Telefónica Signs Mobile Advertising Deal

Latin American and European telecoms operator Telefónica has signed a deal with US mobile advertising company Amobee Media Systems. Telefónica is one of a number of strategic investors in Amobee and plans to deploy its advertising service to operations in Spain, the UK, Mexico and Colombia in 2008, before expanding across the rest of Telefónica's mobile footprint in 2009. The deal is part of an increasing focus across the mobile market on mobile advertising, which many companies are hoping can be used to counter falling revenues.
