Japan's NTT DoCoMo is widening its portfolio of international associates, with the announcement of its interest to acquire a 30% stake in Bangladeshi mobile operator Aktel. Among its existing overseas operations, NTT DoCoMo has a presence in Guam through Guam Cellular, a minority 7% stake in the Philippines' PLDT and a 10% shareholding in KTF of South Korea. Earlier press announcements made by the operator have indicated its interest to enter the Vietnamese, Indian and Chinese markets.
