The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has reportedly awarded a telecommunications operating licence to Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT), a state-owned operator of satellite-based communications services, after many months of pressure from the company and the government for it to be allowed to offer public telecoms services across Nigeria.
