Zain, the leading provider of mobile telephony services in Iraq, has contracted Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to increase the capacity of its nationwide GSM-based cellular network. NSN will also simplify and modernise the existing core network by unifying the disparate technologies used in the Zain and Iraqna networks, allowing for the introduction of a standardised set of basic and value-added services.
