Three cable companies are pulling out of a joint venture with mobile operator Sprint Nextel that enabled them to offer quadruple-play packages of fixed-line, internet, pay TV and mobile services. Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cox Communications entered into an agreement with the mobile company in November 2005 to launch the Pivot services bundle, but have now said that it has been too complicated to market effectively to customers.
