The Ethiopian newspaper The Daily Monitor reports that incumbent operator Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC) is planning to increase capacity on its nationwide mobile telephone network to approximately 5.6mn lines. This is the second phase of an ambitious expansion initiative and will see coverage extended to 766 towns and cities and 22 major highways over a three-month period.
