Etihad Etisalat, Saudi Arabia's second mobile network operator, reports that it had signed up 11.1mn subscribers by the end of 2007, raising its share of the market to 39% less than three years after it began competing with the Al-Jawwal service of incumbent Saudi Telecommunications Company (STC). The company, which trades as Mobily, also claims that its sales grew by 44% to SAR8.44bn in 2007, while its net profits almost doubled to SAR1.38bn.
