Nigeria's newest mobile phone operator Visafone has launched its CDMA 2000 EV-DO-based 3G network in 12 states. The new network provides services to more than 40 cities across the country, including the capital Abuja. The company, which is owned by Jim Ovia, Managing Director of Zenith Bank, has recently received financing worth US$200mn from a consortium of 13 banks.
