A dispute between Latin America's largest telecoms companies has restarted anti-trust investigations by the country's competitions commission into Telmex's dominance of the fixed-line market in Mexico and sister company Telcel's dominance over the mobile market. This will be the second time in a decade that the Federal Competition Commission (CFC) has investigated Telmex but it will be the first investigation into Telcel, owned by América Móvil. Telmex has also requested an investigation into the ownership of Grupo Telecomunicaciones Mexicanas in which it claims Telefónica holds a 97.7% indirect stake.
