The UK could see its first 'fibre town' when H20 Networks begins deploying its fibre network in Bournemouth, Northampton or Dundee in the third quarter of 2008. The company aims to provide super-fast broadband, with speeds reaching up to 100Mbps, using the UK's sewer network, which will speed up network roll out and avoid the expensive costs of digging up roads. The town chosen for the first roll out will depend on which local council can grant approval first, while the cost for launching in the three towns will be between GBP15mn and GBP20mn.
