Confirming earlier reports, Russia's third-largest mobile operator, MegaFon, has contracted Nokia Siemens Networks for the supply of 2G GSM/EDGE infrastructure and network and service management solutions, as well as W-CDMA/HSPA technology for its new 3G network. The three-year EUR320mn agreement covers future network extensions and supplies and will see enhanced 2G and new 3G capabilities extended throughout Russia.
