Venezuelan state-owned telecoms operator CVG Telecom is to launch a fixed-wireless telephony service in May 2007. The company has already deployed 36 CDMA 450 base stations across the country, each with a coverage radius of around 50km. The first phase of its service is expected to benefit some 800,000 users in underserved areas.
