Following on from yesterday's article investigating mobile take-up opportunities in Laos, today, BMI takes a look at Cambodia. With wireless penetration even lower - at 7.5% - and a larger population than Laos, it would seem that Cambodia offers even more potential for investors. Furthermore, the presence of investors such as Millicom International (again) and Telekom Malaysia suggests that the government is keen to attract inward investment. The government also awarded SLD Telecom, whose shareholders include SK Telecom and LG Electronics, a licence to operate a CDMA network in 2006.
