Huawei Technologies, the Chinese telecoms equipment vendor continues to exert its dominance in the CDMA market, where it has been cultivating its position as one of the global top three providers of CDMA technology. In a move, that will complement this focus, the vendor has been granted a contract by Iraqtel, one of the companies to be awarded a national wireless licence (WLL) in September 2006. The contract, which will focus on the southern regions as dictated under Iraqtel's licence agreements, will see Huawei deploy a 3G CDMA network, with work to commence over the coming few months.
