As Canadian telecoms equipment vendor Nortel Networks shapes up its operations, it has made clear its future focus in R&D and marketing will be on 4G technology. The decision according to Nortel, is a logical one, with its expertise in the two types of technology, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission and Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO), being central to all three variations of 4G technology (WiMAX, CDMA2000 Rev C, UMTS Long-Term Evolution).
