With the commercial launch of Slovakia's third mobile operator, Telefónica O2, now just around the corner, the Slovak government has given its strongest hint yet that it may end its involvement in the mobile market. The Minister of Transport, Post and Telecommunications, Lubomir Vazny, told local media that the government should consider selling its stake in number two operator T-Mobile Slovensko. 'Since the third mobile operator, Telefónica O2, should launch operations next year, competition on the market will increase and the state role there will thus no longer be that necessary,' he said.
