French alternative operator Neuf Cegetel is strengthening its attack on incumbent operator France Telecom with plans to extend its broadband services across the whole of France. Neuf Cegetel had previously only offered DSL broadband services in areas where it had installed its own equipment in unbundled local telephone exchanges. However, the company is now set to take advantage of an April ruling by national telecoms regulator Arcep, which obliges France Telecom to sell wholesale ADSL services to competitors in all regions.
