Sweden-based telecoms equipment vendor Ericsson - the largest supplier of mobile systems in the world - is confident of retaining its market lead despite the ongoing consolidation afflicting the global equipment industry, as vendors seek to achieve critical mass in R&D, marketing and supply. The vendor has reported consolidated sales figures of SEK44.166bn for Q206, up by 14.9% y-o-y, of which 69.7% derived from the sale of mobile network systems, while the sale of fixed-line network systems accounted for just 5.7% of total sales.
