Brazil's leading mobile operator Vivo could become the first company to provide national service coverage, according to its President Roberto Lima. The operator, which at the end of 2005 had a user base of 29.8mn and enjoys a 35% share of the country's mobile market, comprises seven regional operators collectively covering 86% of Brazilian territory. These include Telesp Celular (São Paulo), Telefônica Celular (Rio de Janeiro, Espírito Santo and Rio Grande do Sul), Telebahia Celular (Bahia), Telergipe Celular (Sergipe), Global Telecom (Paraná and Santa Catarina), TCO (Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Tocantins, Acre and the federal district), and
