South Africa's leading mobile operator Vodacom is seeking to secure a digital video broadcasting handheld (DVB-H) licence from the country's regulator the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA). The operator is not the only one seeking to provide mobile TV services, MTN has signed an exclusive agreement with Infront Sports and Media to broadcast this year's world cup being held in Germany over its mobile handsets.
