Singapore is on track to become the first country in the Asia Pacific region to complete the deployment of a fibre-based national broadband network after OpenNet achieved 83% residential and non-residential building coverage at the end of November 2011. Although the adoption of fibre broadband in the Singapore has not grown in tandem, we believe that the tech-savvy consumers and businesses would embrace the technology in the next few years as ISPs ramp up their efforts to gain subscriptions. Furthermore, the underlying broadband network should aid the government in its goal to grow the country's ICT sector.
