Satellite TV operator DISH Network outlined plans to build a national mobile broadband network based on LTE technology. It would bundle mobile voice and data services with pay-TV services. In doing so, it will be providing a significant challenge to rival LightSquared, which is also building a wholesale-focused LTE network utilising vacant satellite wireless spectrum. It will likely be chasing the same mobile network partners.
