Globacom Introduces Prepaid 3G Modem

Globacom, owner of Nigeria's second ranked mobile network and holder of one of only two universal service licences in the country, has launched a prepaid 3G USB modem, reports This Day. Prepaid is a very important medium in a market such as Nigeria, where it is estimated that over 98% of the mobile market is made up of prepaid subscribers. Statistics like this one make it clear that a telecoms product has little chance of becoming a mass market product unless it is offered on a prepaid basis.
