GTD To Acquire Telsur

Telefónica del Sur (Telsur) has been acquired by GTD after the former's owner, conglomerate Empresas Quiñenco, announced the sale of its 74.43% stake in the operator. Telsur announced in August 2009 that it was considering the option of a strategic investor as well as 'studying different alternatives' for the operator. Telsur is the dominant operator in the south of Chile.
