Avea Announces Network Partners

Avea, Turkey's smallest mobile network operator, has revealed its three infrastructure partners for the roll out of its 3G services, reports Reuters. Ericsson has been contracted over a four-year period for the supply and deployment of WCDMA/HSPA-enabled equipment in the western region of the country, and also to upgrade the speed and capacity of the existing 2G network. China's two big equipment suppliers, Huawei and ZTE, have also received contracts for 3G deployment - in the Mediterranean and central Anatolian regions for Huawei, and in east and southeast Anatolia for ZTE.
