Telenor-owned Indian mobile operator Uninor is reportedly gearing up to acquire one or more of its rivals, most likely a much larger mid-tier competitor. If true, this would help the newly launched operator to ensure its survival at a time when the fiercely competitive Indian mobile market is widely expected to enter a turbulent period of consolidation.
