ANCOM Looking To Maintain Mobile Competition

A day before reporting the 100,000th successful number port in Romania, the country's telecoms regulator, ANCOM, revealed that, from September 2009, Romania's mobile operators will unlock handsets encoded to their networks, at the users' request. In conjunction with the Association of Mobile Operators in Romania (AOMR), and Romtelecom and RCS&RDS, ANCOM has established a code of practice for unlocking handsets.
