Columbus Sets Sail For Curaçao, Eyes Further Expansion

Columbus Communications will launch its triple-play service in Curaçao by the beginning of October, according to Andre Foster, the company's vice president of information technology. The move is accompanied by the deployment of a service management platform (SMP) on the island using the expertise of Sigma Systems, a provider of operational support systems (OSS) software. Columbus has indicated that the launch is part of a larger expansion strategy in the Caribbean and surrounding regions, with the SMP expanding to Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago and Grenada. BMI sees the expansion as a logical step for the company, which is fast becoming a major regional player.
