Nextel Looking To Post-iDEN Future

Motorola's business development manager for Latin America, Francisco Suárez, has said that he believes there is a 'limited lifespan' to the company's iDEN technology, reports BNAmericas. The 2G technology has been popular in the Americas among business subscribers and offers push-to-talk (PTT) two-way radio services. However, with 3G services now on offer by the majority of mobile operators in Latin America, added to the increasing focus on 4G technologies, we seem to be coming to the end of the iDEN life cycle.
