Ofcom Wants Everybody Off The ARCs

Automatically renewable contracts (ARCs) that tie consumers with landlines are set to be banned under proposals from the UK regulator, Ofcom. The contracts are currently offered by BT and several smaller providers to both residential and business users of landline services in the UK. BMI welcomes the Ofcom proposals as we expect them to make a positive contribution to competition in the market by making it easier for consumers to switch suppliers._x000d_
