Huawei and Samsung In The Running For LTE Contracts
March 2011 | Industry NewsChinese telecoms equipment vendor Huawei and South Korean firm Samsung Electronics are among a number of firms in the running to win contracts for Russia's planned LTE network. It is believed Huawei and Samsung are favourites for the deal as they currently supply Yota, the firm selected to roll out Russia's LTE network. Russia aims to have an 18-city LTE network operational by 2014, representing a large sales opportunity for equipment vendors, but there is also considerable risk involved, BMI believes.
