Spectrum Auction in Sweden Paves Way For Nationwide LTE

Swedish telecoms regulator PTS completed the auction for 800MHz spectrum and raised a total of SEK2.054bn (EUR233mn). Three existing operators TeliaSonera, 3 Sweden and Net4Mobility (Telenor and Tele2) won spectrum blocks in an auction that began on March 1 2011. The awarding of licences will enable wider LTE coverage in Sweden, which is already a world leader in 4G services, BMI believes.
