'Fibre For Italy' To Accelerate FTTH Expansion

The FTTH Council Europe reported that Italy has 347,000 fibre subscribers, making it the 4th largest FTTH market in Europe by number of subscribers. This figure is expected to continue to grow as the fibre for Italy project proceeds. BMI considers the project a positive step that should improve Italy's fixed-line infrastructure which in the past acted as a brake on broadband development and left Italy lagging other Western European countries.
