Regulation Needed If Broadband Growth Is To Flourish

Colombian telecoms operators are calling for a revision to regulations governing the broadband sector that will allow them to take advantage of the market's huge potential. At the Andicom conference in Cartagena de Indias, operators complained that uneven tax rates hindered growth opportunities for broadband in the country. At the same time, the Colombian government presented its 'Viva Digital' national technology plan, which puts strong focus on broadband technologies. BMI sees both moves as hugely important steps for broadband services in Colombia.
